General Employment Questions
Why are most of your job openings seasonal?
Silver Dollar City Attractions’ business is seasonal, which means that our operating schedule fluctuates depending upon the time of the year. For much of the year, our parks are open 4-5 days per week. Our operating schedule is extended during late spring and the summer period to 7 days per week.
If I apply for a seasonal job, does that mean I am only going to work a certain time of the year?
Possibly. Some of our seasonal jobs are for specific time periods. However, most of our seasonal positions work the majority of the year. Please refer to the job description listed to find the length of commitment for the position you are applying for.
If hired, what would I wear as an employee?
For most positions that have contact with our guests, your property will provide you with uniforms/costumes appropriate to the area for which you are hired. Employees must provide their own footwear which must comply with costume standards for their position and property.
How long are the work shifts?
This question should be clarified during your interview process. Work shifts vary by job and property, but usually are between 6 and 10 hours in length.
What age do you have to be to work at your properties?
Most of our positions require that you be at least 18 years of age. However, we do have positions at White Water and Silver Dollar City that allow one to work at the age of 16. We also have a summer program where we allow 14-15 year old employees to work in food service at Silver Dollar City. Age requirements will be listed in the job descriptions.
