McHaffie's Homestead

Step into life in an 1880s Ozark homestead at McHaffie's Homestead on the Silver Dollar City Square. A real, hewn-log cabin built in 1843 by the pioneering Levi Casey family, it was home to the McHaffie family before it was reassembled and preserved at Silver Dollar City in 1960.

As you wander through this authentic "saddlebag" log cabin, you can sit on a featherbed, rock in a chair in front of the fire, smell corn bread cooking on the wood-fired stove, and talk with the Homestead family as they do their daily chores.

Entertainment is 1880s-style, too. Join the talented Homestead Pickers as they play and sing on the front porch, and sing along to some old-time favorites. Don’t miss storytelling with Aunt Judy, who keeps kids and grandparents alike enthralled with tall tales and old-fashioned yarns.

Rediscover the fun of low-tech, high-touch, family-centered life in the 1880s Ozarks at Silver Dollar City’s McHaffie's Homestead!
