Silver Dollar City In 250 Words

Silver Dollar City, now celebrating a 60th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee, is an internationally awarded theme park in Branson, Missouri.  The 1880s-style park, tucked in the Ozark Mountains, is widely acclaimed for excellence in theme, presentation and operations.

Silver Dollar City began as a re-creation of the mining town that once stood at the mouth of the National, Natural Landmark, the great Marvel Cave, which lies under the park. Today, the 100-acre park draws two million visitors each year with over 40 rides & attractions plus 10 world-class festivals or special events.

Several of Silver Dollar City’s roller coasters have worldwide footprints, such as the record-setting Outlaw Run as the Guinness Book “Steepest Drop on a Wood Coaster” (2015); Time Traveler, the “Fastest, Steepest, Tallest Spinning Coaster in the World’; and Mystic River Falls, the “Tallest Drop on a Water Raft Ride in the Western Hemisphere.”

Silver Dollar City is the “#1 Amusement Park in America,” and the 4-time recipient of “America’s Best Holiday Theme Park Event,” as designated by the readers and editors of USA Today 10Best.  Other awards include the worldwide Applause Award (THEA/Themed Entertainment Assoc.) and the Golden Ticket award as the "Friendliest Park" in the entire theme park industry.

Of notable mention, the United States Congress named Silver Dollar City, with a colony of 100 demonstrating artisans, “The Home of American Craftsmanship.”

Silver Dollar City is the original property of Herschend Family Entertainment, the nation’s largest family-owned themed attractions corporation.
