Carrie's Candles Craftsmen
Gene Evans, Associate Craftsman
Gene Evans, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, dips into history as he lowers a cylinder wound with string into hot wax, demonstrating how authentic settlers made candle tapers.
Carrying on a craft that was essential throughout much of history is important to him, and in his years as a craftsman at Silver Dollar City, he has found that guests love the background and the artistry that goes into each candle.
Evans turns 3,200 pounds of wax each year into candles of all sizes, shapes and scents.
