Sun Safety Tips

- When it comes to sun safety, remember the 5 S's:
- Sunglasses
- Sleeves
- Shade
- Sunglasses
- Sun Hat
- Apply sunscreen to dry skin at least 15 minutes before sun exposure.
- Use water-resistant sunscreen if you are going to be in the water or sweating.
- Don't skimp on sunscreen!
- Apply a generous amount to exposed skin, including face, neck and hands.
- Don't forget commonly overlooked places like ears, scalp and tops of feet.
- Remember SPF lip balm to protect your kisser!
- Remember to reapply sunscreen:
- At least every two hours.
- After 80 minutes of sweating or swimming. (Water resistance varies by sunscreen.)
- Immediately after towel drying.
- Sunlight reflects off concrete, sand and water increasing your UV exposure and your chances of getting sunburned.
- You still need sunscreen on cloudy days! UV rays can penetrate through clouds and even rain and fog.
