  • When it comes to sun safety, remember the 5 S's:
    • Sunglasses
    • Sleeves
    • Shade
    • Sunglasses
    • Sun Hat

  • Apply sunscreen to dry skin at least 15 minutes before sun exposure.

  • Use water-resistant sunscreen if you are going to be in the water or sweating.

  • Don't skimp on sunscreen!
    • Apply a generous amount to exposed skin, including face, neck and hands.
    • Don't forget commonly overlooked places like ears, scalp and tops of feet.
    • Remember SPF lip balm to protect your kisser!

  • Remember to reapply sunscreen:
    • At least every two hours.
    • After 80 minutes of sweating or swimming. (Water resistance varies by sunscreen.)
    • Immediately after towel drying.

  • Sunlight reflects off concrete, sand and water increasing your UV exposure and your chances of getting sunburned.

  • You still need sunscreen on cloudy days! UV rays can penetrate through clouds and even rain and fog.
